Postcard: Autumn in Kuskovo park III
Postcard: Autumn in Kuskovo park III
These three postcards show different autumn scenes at Kuskovo forest-park on the east of Moscow, all done in black and coloured ink.
The third scene is drawn on a postcard by Lena Zhukovskaya and Andrei Shayahov. The text on the postcard reads «(the dog) barks viciously; but as soon you pass; looks at you; with guilt». The scene is one of the lesser alleys of the forest park, not cleared from falling leaves, thus below the carpet of leaves remains.

Postcard: Autumn in Kuskovo park II

The second scene is drawn on the back of a postcard with an 1930s-1950s style illustration by an unknown author with a residential building on Krasnoprudnaya street. It shows one of the alleys of the park, with the gravel road and trees around.

Postcard: Steve Wozniak at Apple Museum, Moscow
Postcard: Steve Wozniak at Apple Museum, Moscow
Drawn in ink and watercolour. This drawing is a postcard version of a previously published artwork with Steve Wozniak visiting Apple Museum in Moscow. The postcard itself is designed by Orka Collective, and the front features Shukhov Tower in Moscow. Like the previously published postcard, this one is unusual due to thickness of cardboard.

Postcard: Protest in support of Alexey Navalny on Putin's birthday in 2017 at Pushkinskaya Square, Moscow
Postcard: Protest in support of Alexey Navalny on Putin’s birthday in 2017 at Pushkinskaya Square, Moscow
Drawn in ink and watercolour. This postcard was sent in an envelope, hence the artwork takes up all the space and there are no stamps. The scene is October 7th protest in 2017 at Pushkinskaya Square in support of Alexey Navalny. The protest was not permitted by the authorities. In the middle is Aleksandr Pushkin statue. The postcard, designed by Ann Opšteine, is unusual due to thickness of the cardboard.

Postcard: At Tsaritsyno, Moscow
Postcard: At Tsaritsyno, Moscow
The postcard is from Finland, and shows a photo of Tove Jansson in her studio in Helsinki.
The back of the postcard shows a group of student artists, either students or hobbyists, during summer practice at Tsaritsyno park in Moscow.
Coloured ink was used for most of the colours for sturdiness during the voyage via post, but some watercolours were added as well to expand the palette. This was done after having difficulty with the previous Moscow card.
The postcard was mailed using standard «Kremlins» stamps of the time.

Postcard: Kotelnicheskaya Embankment Building, Moscow
Postcard: Kotelnicheskaya Embankment Building, Moscow
This postcard’s drawing is of Kotelnicheskaya embankment building, drawn on the back of the «General View» of «Moscow, Kremlin» reprint postcard.
The drawing proved to be challenging as the postcard was glossy both on the front and the back, making it so the brush with watercolour was washing away the ink lines.

Postcard: Nevsky Avenue, St. Petersburg
Postcard: Nevsky Avenue, St. Petersburg
This postcard shows an overview of Nevsky Avenue with Leningrad Hero City Obelisk at Vosstaniya Square in the distance, seen from a building alongside the street, drawn in ink and watercolour. Dip pen was used for the lines, which scratched the paper, resulting in thick lines as the ink spread out. The postcard is a reprint of a late-19th or early-20th century postcard with a photo of the Imperial Academy of the Arts.

Lost postcard: Murmansk train station
Lost postcard: Murmansk train station
This postcard was drawn in Murmansk on another postcard with a drawing by Sergei Eremkin. The quick drawing is in pencil and watercolour of Murmansk train station with the port in the background.
It was sent from Murmansk, from the post office adjacent to the street that has the same name with a street where my apartment is in Moscow.
The postcard was never delivered.
Possibly, it was delivered to the same street name, same building number and same apartment number as mine, but in Murmansk, which would’ve been hilarious, but I do not have a confirmation on that, and this would’ve required them to disregard the word «Moscow» and the postcode.
Most likely, the post office disregarded the postcard altogether. This is likely because the postcard was mailed using a postcard fee, lower than a letter fee. Post office workers are often not well familiar with fees, and might have considered the postcard was not sufficiently paid.
So far, this is the second postcard in my experience that was confirmedly lost in transit, the first being a postcard sent from Nami island of «Naminara Republic» of South Korea.

Postcard: Secluded oak at Trigorskoye, Pushkin Hills, Pskov Oblast
Postcard: Secluded oak at Trigorskoye, Pushkin Hills, Pskov Oblast
This postcard was drawn in pen and watercolour at the village of Burgovo of Pskov Oblast in Pushkin Hills.
The postcard shows the «secluded oak» or «solitary oak» from the park of reconstructed Trigorskoye mansion. The oak is named such after Alexander Pushkin’s «If I walk the noisy streets…«. The printed artwork on the front is «Fleeting vision» by «Kryukov V. and K» which is a nod to the verse of «To ***«.
The postcard was sent via a historic post office of reconstructed Bugrovo village. The exhibition is not a proper post office, but they do accept mail and transport it to the nearby actual post office. The word «Bugrovo» was written with a quill and ink.
One of the stamps was accidentally placed upside down.
