Kokone Takatsu

Drawn in ink and watecolour on an early 20th century postcard from Kamakura. The postcard leaves very little space for actual letter, or in this case, a drawing. Kokone Takatsu is a character from Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou manga series by Hitoshi Ashinano, and it centrally takes place in around Kanagawa. The postage stamp used is of 1990 Postage Stamps Design Contest.
The postcard is from Kamakura, and signed “Kanon of Kamakura” with the Japanese text saying “鎌倉是谷寺 観音”, referring to Hasedera temple. Note that the Japanese text at the time was still written right to left.
