Rocks of Jogashima (Miura, Kanagawa, Japan)

Drawn with ink and watercolour on an early 20th century (likely Taisho or early Showa period) postcard with a “Fine View of Hakone”. The blue-purple souvenir stamp was there from the original postcard owner and says “Hakone Shrine” (箱根神社). The postage stamp is issued to International Letter Writing Week 2019. The stamp over the drawing is by Vnukovo airport post office that sorts international airmail on arrival. In manga series Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou by Ashinano Hitoshi, Jogashima was the spot for watching the new year’s sunrise.
